Our nursery, your child’s second home

Our nursery is designed to be a safe haven, where children feel loved, respected, physically and emotionally secure.  We look forward to being a part of your children’s journey through this important time of their life.

Miles of Smiles Nursery is a newly established nursery and was officially OFSTED registered in March 2025. We are a small nursery with rooms for just over 20 children; which creates a warm home from home environment.

Miles of Smiles Nursery was born with the mission of supporting Early Years Education. We truly believe that  every child deserves to get the best start to their journey in life, which will drive their future life as adults and maximize their potential.

What Can We Provide For You

At Miles of Smiles Nursery our focus is your child. To help them to develop fully to their abilities, we provide a Curiosity Approach in learning; this enables them to have full use of their imagination and take their skills to the next level and it also lets the child lead the learning rather than the adult. We also provide a happy and fun environment where every child is welcomed and accepted and their voices are heard.

Early Years Education With A Child Specific, Holistic Offering For Children From 0 To 5 Years Of Age

We are an extension of your family

Your children will spend time interacting with friends in the nursery enjoying  free play and self-discovery, which is crucial for their development. In our nursery, guided by our practitioners, we aim to build on this by supporting them, through suitable age-appropriate stimulations and activities, to allow them to connect socially and emotionally with other children in a controlled environment.  Working together with each family, we ensure that each child’s nursery experience is a nurturing foundation of learning and educational opportunities that offers a bright start and promising future. We aim to be your child’s second Home.

Social impact: by creating a welcoming environment for breastfeeding employees, we help reduce inequalities and strengthen family wellbeing. Environmental benefits: breastfeeding is a natural, sustainable choice that reduces waste and carbon footprint compared to formula feeding. Quality standards: this commitment aligns with the HEY Early Years Award, showcasing our dedication to best practice and family- friendly values.

We also offer a Public Space Award as a breastfeeding friendly public space for the families in our community, so parents can be reassured that they’ll be supported to continue their breastfeeding journey when their child attends our nursery.

EAL (English as an Additional Language) books are vital in early years for fostering cognitive, linguistic, and emotional development by bridging home languages with English. They boost confidence, validate cultural identity, and strengthen parent-child bonds through shared reading. Utilizing bilingual or dual-language books aids comprehension and accelerates English acquisition.

We welcome the arrival of Lizzie the Elephant at Miles of Smiles Nursery. Kindly donated by Sheffield artist and psychotherapist Ms Ali Kitley-Jones. Lizzie is the foundation of the elephant art trail unveiled in Sheffield as part of a charity fundraising drive. Lizzie has lived in a studio where Ms Ali did her work working with people suffering from PTSD, trauma, abuse and other mental health conditions. Miles of Smiles family is excited to have Lizzie be part of our learning and she’s standing beautifully in our art room.
